About us

Our names are Mal and Diane Gray and we are your hosts, we have been at The Butcher & Beast since May 2009, and have had two further pubs with Batemans Brewery and are very proud to have been associated with them for the last 12 years. We have both been in the trade for a very long time, well over 20 years for Mal and nearly 20 years for Diane.

We have two children Jessica and Amy who both attend Branston Community College, and will often see them around the pub helping out. (when it suits them, teenagers...)

We have tried to bring our experience with us and have felt we deliver a very good service. Mal concertates on front of house, keep a well stocked bar and cellar. His passion is real ale and he is always changing the beers so you will have a good choice every time you visit the pub. Diane is the cook, and where ever possible will always use local produce. The menu has a wide choice of good home cooked food, which we like to call real pub food.
